It seems that Valve has successfully passed the FCC’s certification for a new Steam Deck without attracting any attention.
The device was not detected earlier because Valve cleverly incorporated it through their Wi-Fi and Bluetooth chip supplier.
The updated Steam Deck may offer more than just a upgraded Wi-Fi 6E chip.
The creators of Valve’s Steam Deck have clearly stated that a new version, Steam Deck 2, will not be released until at least 2025. However, this does not rule out the possibility of a revised version of the current handheld PC being released by Valve. In fact, it seems that the FCC has recently approved a refreshed version of the Steam Deck.
The Verge reported that a Steam Deck recently went through the FCC with a different model number on August 13. This model number, 1030, was also linked to a Valve device that was submitted to South Korea’s National Radio Research Agency.
