Last week, the Google Pixel 8 Pro was released with a variety of unique capabilities such as Video Boost and 5x optical zoom. Additionally, it includes professional camera controls, a first for any Pixel device. Surprisingly, this function is not expected to be available on any other Pixel model, not even the standard Pixel 8.
We inquired with Google about the possibility of pro camera controls being available on other Pixel devices. They informed us that they will take a wait-and-see approach. However, well-known leaker and occasional Android Authority contributor Kamila Wojciechowska shared on X (formerly Twitter) that there is no obstacle preventing Google from bringing pro controls to other Pixel models.
