Earlier this week, I participated in Meta Connect 2023, which is the tenth edition of the company’s annual developer conference. At this event, Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg revealed the latest addition to their product lineup – the Meta Quest 3. This new VR headset is a follow-up to the Meta Quest 2 (formerly known as Oculus Quest 2) and comes with upgraded features while maintaining an affordable price point of under $500.

Throughout the event, the term that was frequently mentioned was “accessible.” This word was reiterated by Zuckerberg multiple times, as well as other members of the Meta team. In the context of the presentation, “accessibility” is being used in its literal sense: Meta aims for its products to be easily obtainable by a wide range of individuals. Achieving this goal requires maintaining a low cost.
