  • A judge in California has nullified a recent jury decision that ruled in favor of Sonos.

  • The court ruled that certain patents for Sonos’s multiple-speaker technology were not legally binding.

Following Sonos’ legal action, Google had to eliminate certain functions from its Nest speakers and smart displays. However, it appears that Google may be making progress towards bringing back these features.

A judge in California ruled to overturn a $32.5 million jury decision in favor of Sonos against Google (h/t: Reuters), citing the unenforceability of Sonos’s patents.
