Top-rated MagSafe wireless chargers for the 2023 iPhone.
Macworld
We have compiled a list of top-rated magnetic chargers that are compatible with MagSafe, ranging from simple designs to multi-functional options that can charge up to six devices at once. These chargers come in a variety of colors and styles, including snap-on chargers, modular stands, foldable power banks, and full desk mats.
Apple’s MagSafe technology presents a more efficient way of wirelessly charging compatible iPhones. MagSafe is the ring of magnets around the iPhone 12, 13, 14 and 15’s internal charging coil, which senses compatible accessories and magnetically snaps securely into place with the right accessories.
All versions of iPhone 12/13/14/15 are compatible with MagSafe. This feature enables certified and compatible accessories to securely attach to the back of the iPhone through magnetic force, resulting in a more durable and environmentally friendly connection.
MagSafe charging offers a faster charging experience than standard Qi wireless charging due to several factors. The main reason being that it supports 15W charging for iPhones, whereas Qi chargers usually provide only 7.5W. It is worth noting, however, that this 15W is reduced to 12W for the iPhone 12/13 mini. Non-MagSafe magnetic chargers, also referred to as “MagSafe-compatible wireless chargers,” are restricted to a maximum of 7.5W charging.
During our experiments, the charging speed of MagSafe decreased to less than 10W when the iPhone reached 50 percent battery. This is still quicker than using compatible chargers, but the advantage of using certified MagSafe is not as significant as the initial numbers may imply.
Additionally, the magnetic connection of MagSafe offers a higher level of accuracy compared to simply resting your phone on a regular wireless charging pad. Traditional wireless charging can be inefficient, resulting in up to 50% of its power being lost due to incorrect placement and external factors. However, with the precise positioning of MagSafe, this inefficiency is reduced to 30%, making it a more efficient option compared to charging with a Lightning cable.
You are less likely to discover that your phone was not properly positioned and did not charge while you were asleep.

Apple
MagSafe certification
Apple certifies MagSafe accessories with its Made for iPhone (MFi) badge. This ensures that the output charging is 15W, compared to non-certified but MagSafe-compatible Qi chargers that are usually just 7.5W. Certified MagSafe chargers also have a single-wire NFC antenna that allows the iPhone to identify the device, a built-in magnetometer, and a compass to prevent interference while you are using your iPhone while it’s charging.
Do not dismiss MagSafe-compatible chargers, as they are often of good quality and significantly cheaper. The term “MagSafe compatible” is commonly used to refer to accessories that contain several magnets.
Apart from Apple’s own devices and a select few from popular accessory brand Belkin, there are not many MFI-certified MagSafe chargers available. These two companies dominate the certified market, although Zens offers some high-end products through the Apple Store.
We have steered clear of the numerous inexpensive options available on the internet and instead prioritized high-quality brands. Additionally, we have also included those that stand out with unique features.
Although inexpensive charging cables should be avoided due to safety concerns, using compatible wireless charging is generally safer due to the technology used. However, it is still recommended to avoid purchasing excessively cheap options.
The iPhone 12/13/14/15 models are compatible with chargers that are not magnetic. You can take a look at our list of the top wireless chargers for iPhone. We also have a compilation of the best portable battery packs and power banks that support MagSafe. Keep in mind that some of the MagSafe chargers we reviewed may still require a wall charger for power. For recommendations on the best iPhone chargers, check out our guide.
Multi-device magnetic chargers
The most basic type of MagSafe or magnetic charger is a flat pad that attaches to an iPhone that is compatible. Some pads also have a retractable arm that allows the iPhone to be propped up during charging.
Some products have the ability to charge multiple Apple devices, including iPhones, Apple Watches, and wireless AirPods charging cases, simultaneously. It should be noted that the AirPods case must be the wireless version, as the original case did not have this feature. The base of a multi-charger may also be able to charge a second iPhone, but typically not using magnetic charging and at a lower wattage (5W) compared to 7.5W or 15W. Check out our compilation of the top chargers and stands for Apple Watches.
If you are looking to purchase a MagSafe charger, the Apple MagSafe Charger offers a simple option.

Pros
- 15W (MagSafe)
Cons
- Short cable
-
Charging with a cable is quicker.
MagSafe: Certified
Output charging: 15W
Cable: 1m (3.3ft)
Charging adapter not provided.
Colors: White
The Apple MagSafe Charger is the most apparent choice for purchasing a MagSafe Charger for your Apple iPhone. It is the charger that would have been included with the iPhone if Apple still did so.
The design by Apple is very minimalistic, resembling the Apple Watch Charger.
You have the option to utilize it for charging your AirPods as well.
The certified version has a significant benefit compared to the uncertified versions due to its 15W charging speed. However, it is only half as fast as using a Lightning cable. If you are already going through the trouble of connecting it to a USB-C charger, it may be more efficient to use a Lightning (iPhone 12/13/14) or USB-C (iPhone 15) cable. Using a cable, an iPhone can reach 50% battery in approximately 30 minutes, whereas it takes around 50 minutes to wirelessly charge an iPhone from 0 to 50% using the 15W MagSafe.
The Apple MagSafe Charger has its flaws. It is too compact and lightweight, causing it to easily detach from the desk when lifting your iPhone. This results in an inadequate wireless charging experience. Additionally, the 1m cable is insufficient for charging and using your iPhone simultaneously.
Remember to use a USB-C wall charger with a recommended minimum of 20W to achieve the full 15W potential.
We believe there are superior options available for MagSafe and MagSafe-compatible products.

The Belkin MagSafe Charger Pad is available in two standard colors and offers the same fast charging speed as Apple’s charger. It also includes a longer cable and a convenient pop-up stand.
The cable is twice the length of Apple’s, making it more convenient for charging the phone. Additionally, it is made of a thicker nylon material and has a useful built-in silicone cable organizer.
The cost is higher than Apple, which is unexpected. You’re paying more for the extended cable and kickstand, but we believe it’s justified if you require a certified 15W MagSafe charger. Connecting with a straight cable will be quicker, but we appreciate the convenience of the kickstand, which is not included with a regular cable connection.
You have the option to purchase directly from Belkin, either with a 27W power adapter included or without it if you already have a wall charger available for use.

A charger that can recharge an iPhone, AirPods, and Watch all at once is a great convenience for Apple enthusiasts. However, many of the chargers we have tried out require a significant amount of desk space. The sleekly designed HiRise 3 Deluxe takes a more vertical approach, minimizing its footprint. This makes it perfect for bedside tables and other areas where a large charging stand may not be desired.
This product is officially certified by Apple and has the ability to quickly charge any MagSafe iPhone (excluding the SE model) at 15W, as well as fast-charge an Apple Watch (Series 7, 8, 9, SE and Ultra) at 5W and Apple AirPods (2nd and 3rd generation AirPods, and all AirPods Pro) at 7.5W.

Due to its small size, it occupies minimal space on your desk or bedside table.
The stand can be used in both landscape and portrait modes, but it is not very tall. However, it does offer adjustable viewing angles of up to 60 degrees.
The A-frame Anker 737 MagGo is another 3-in-1 charger from the same company that can charge an iPhone (at 15W), AirPods, and Watch at the same time. The main difference between this charger and the Anker 3-in-1 Cube with MagSafe is the shape. The only other notable difference is that the slightly less expensive 737 does not offer fast-charging for the Apple Watch.

This charger is quite fascinating as it has the capability to charge an iPhone 12//13/14/15 and an Apple Watch simultaneously. It also functions as a high-capacity power bank, allowing you to charge your devices even when you are away from a power outlet.
Apple has given full certification to this product, allowing it to wirelessly charge an iPhone at 15W and quickly charge an Apple Watch simultaneously. In order to use it, you will need to connect it to a USB-C charger with a minimum of 20W.
The foldable iPhone stand can be adjusted and the Watch charger can be folded back, making it convenient to carry the OtterBox 2-in-1 Power Bank in a flat position.
However, its dimensions of 6 inches by 3.2 inches by 1.3 inches (15.3 cm by 8 cm by 3.4 cm) make it quite large, and it weighs 12 ounces (340 grams), which adds some weight to carry in a pocket while walking around. Nevertheless, it is an ideal power bank with an iPhone stand for use at home or in the office, as it can easily be moved around your workspace.
You can utilize it as a typical iPhone charging stand (connected to a wall charger) and then simply lift it up and utilize its power bank feature when you need to be mobile.

However, it is more affordable and includes a cable that is twice the length of Apple’s, providing greater flexibility based on the location of your power outlet and where you prefer to charge. Additionally, it has a convenient cord wrap feature.
An LED light will alert you if there is any interruption in the charging process that could potentially damage your phone.
If the slower 7.5W charging is not a concern, this is a cost-effective option that outperforms the official Apple product due to its longer cable.

Similar to Apple’s Duo Charger, this device can charge your AirPods at a rate of 5W while also functioning as a stand for your iPhone. It is designed with a stable weighted base and can be used in either portrait or landscape mode.
Although it has a slightly plastic feel, it maintains a suitable Apple-like appearance and is more affordable than the Apple 2-in-1.
A small light-emitting diode indicates if the AirPods case is currently being charged wirelessly.

The Anker PowerWave is designed to simultaneously charge an iPhone 12/13/14/15 and a wireless AirPod case charger. However, it is not MFi certified, so it cannot reach the 15W charging capacity of Apple.
If you have the luxury of time, the 7.5W charging is acceptable. However, if you are in a rush, it would be more efficient to use a cable instead of a 15W certified MagSafe charger.
The AirPods are powered at a rate of 5 watts, which is the typical standard for magnetic chargers that can charge multiple devices.
This attractive stand from a top premium accessory brand offers angled landscape and portrait options.
The magnetic connection is highly durable, so there is no need to be concerned about the iPhone slipping off, even while adjusting its angle.

The stand’s power bank holster can be tilted at a maximum angle of 40 degrees.
The removable power bank charges while in the holder using a 1.5m USB-C cable, which needs a wall charger with a minimum of 20W. If needed, you can exchange the cable for one that is longer or shorter.
This is an excellent fusion of a stationary charger and a portable power bank. To discover more choices, check out our collection of the top MagSafe power banks.
Alogic offers a modular charger stand that is compatible with MagSafe battery packs. It was reviewed alongside the 3-in-1 stand, which includes a magnetic Apple Watch charger, but it is also available as a 2-in-1 option.

The included 45W wall charger is equipped with adapter plugs for the US, UK, and EU, making it convenient to bring the Zens 4-in-1 Charging Station with you while traveling.

A phone stand is convenient as it elevates the charging device to a level that allows for easier FaceTime calls or video viewing without the need to hold the phone up. It can securely hold the phone in either vertical or horizontal orientation.

If you have invested in the complete Apple device system, this product can charge all your portable or wearable devices. It is worth mentioning that it has the ability to quickly charge the Apple Watch.
This design features a flat pad with the added feature of being able to use the Watch as a Nightstand clock on a bedside table or desk. It would have been preferable if the phone charger could also be adjusted to hold the phone at an angle for watching videos.
Although it has a minimalist design, it still occupies a significant amount of desk space, measuring approximately 23cm in width and 8cm in width. The iPhone also protrudes from both sides.
The pad design is more convenient for on-the-go use compared to a charging stand. It also includes a wall power adapter, eliminating the need for a separate USB-C charger.

Alogic developed a modular system known as Matrix, which can turn a traditional charging station into a versatile and portable one. It includes multiple products that can be used together to cater to various charging requirements.
The Matrix 3-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock with Apple Watch Charger is a versatile charging solution that includes a wireless charging stand for iPhone (compatible with MagSafe) with a 7.5W output, a Qi cradle for AirPods, and a detachable charger for Apple Watch. The detachable charger can be taken on-the-go and plugged into a USB-C charger or device for charging. It should be noted that the Apple Watch cannot be fast-charged with this charger, as it only has a 2W output. To fast-charge, you will need Apple’s USB-C Magnetic Fast Charging Cable and a 5W USB-C charger. However, the detachable charger is more portable since it does not require a long cable and has a built-in USB-C connector.
Similar to the Anker 633 Wireless Charger, which was previously evaluated, you have the option to exchange the wireless phone-charging component and incorporate the Matrix Wireless Power Bank (available for purchase separately). This portable power bank has a capacity of 5000mAh and can function as a stationary charging stand or as a compact, magnetic battery pack that can be taken with you. It is pre-charged and ready to be used on the stand. The power bank can charge two phones or devices simultaneously – one wirelessly and the other through a USB-C cable. In our tests, it successfully charged an iPhone 13 Pro from 10% to 94%.
Unfortunately, there is no way to reword this text as it includes specific product names and functions.
If you do not possess an Apple Watch, using the Matrix 2-in-1 Magnetic Charging Dock can help you save money. The USB-C Port on the side allows for potential addition of a Watch module in the future if you decide to get the full range of Apple devices.

The Zens Modular Charging Station is a MagSafe-certified stand designed for iPhone, AirPods, Apple Watch, and iPad charging. It can accommodate up to four Apple devices and can extend to more with additional charging modules.
All MagSafe iPhones (12/13/14/15) have the capability to charge wirelessly at a maximum speed of 15W, which is faster than MagSafe-compatible chargers that are not certified. AirPods and Apple Watch can also be charged wirelessly, but at a slower rate of 5W each.
The iPhone can be positioned in portrait or landscape orientation. The back of the phone has a stand that can hold an iPad, and the iPad can be charged with a USB-C port located on the side, with a maximum charging speed of 30W.
The power supply can simultaneously charge all devices with a total output of 65W.
The Watch component included in the 4-in-1 charger can easily be placed on either the right or left side based on personal preference. The modules are attached using magnets.
The Apple Watch extension has the capability to detach from the main station and be powered through a USB-C port, transforming into a separate wireless charger for convenient use while on the go.
You can add up to three modules, which can be purchased separately. In addition to additional Watch modules, the Single Wireless Charger Extension is a 10W wireless charging pad, and the Modular USB-hub Extension allows you to charge a USB-A powered device.

The Belkin Boost Charge Pro Wireless Car Charger with MagSafe is the top choice for a MagSafe car charger.

Pros
- 15W (MagSafe)
- Dedicated car accessory
Cons
-
Does not work with all types of car vents.
- Expensive
- US only
Output charging: 15W
Cable: Built-in
Car charger with 12V adapter included.
Colors: White
This MagSafe-certified wireless charger and car vent mount allows for convenient use of your iPhone as a navigation tool or for easily playing your playlists while driving. It is compatible with both landscape and portrait modes.
The device includes a built-in USB-C cord and a 12V adapter for vehicles equipped with USB-A ports.
The magnetic connection is robust, indicating that it can withstand significant jolts while on the road. It functions most effectively on flat, level vent slats that are no more than 3mm thick and 20mm deep. While it can also be used on vertical slats, Belkin notes that there may be some slight shifting if the mount is carrying too much weight.
This car mount is the only one that is specifically designed and certified for MagSafe at 15W, making it quite costly. However, if you don’t mind a lower charging rate, the Belkin BoostCharge Magnetic Wireless Car Charger 10W performs similarly for a significantly lower price. Another option is to purchase Spigen’s Mag Fit Phone Holder Car Mount and pair it with Apple’s MagSafe Charger (which was reviewed earlier) for the same 15W output. This product also comes in black, like most car vents.
Currently, the only location to purchase the MagSafe version is through Apple’s US Store.

The mat is quite sizable, with dimensions of 780 x 70 x 4mm. The Light gray shade resembles a warm stone color.
The charging panel attaches to the mat using a gentle magnetic snap, and can be placed on either side by rotating the mat 180 degrees. This is useful for both left and right handed users.
Since it is only MagSafe compatible, not certified, this charger can charge iPhones at 7.5W instead of 15W. However, it can charge other compatible phones at the higher 15W power. Earbuds can also be charged at a maximum of 5W. The magnetic connection is secure, so it cannot be easily knocked off its charging position by accidental arm movements.
The item includes a USB-C cable, but a charger is necessary. It is recommended to use a charger of 20W or higher.

Why wireless?
Using wireless charging is convenient and suitable for scenarios where a quick recharge is not necessary.
If you are in a hurry to leave your house in 20 minutes and require maximum battery life, connect your iPhone to a Lightning cable. Even a 12W USB charger can charge your phone one-third faster than a wireless charger, while a 20W USB-C-to-Lightning PD charger can provide a 50% faster charge.
Using this adapter is more convenient and dependable than repeatedly plugging in a cable to your phone. The vulnerable Lightning port can easily become clogged with debris from being carried in your pocket or bag, which is a common cause for iPhones not charging even when connected to a cable.
Using a toothpick to remove debris is a simple task, but it should be done gently. However, this method will likely be necessary for many of us at some point.
Wireless charging is not impacted by the accumulation of dust and debris in the phone’s port, and it is also less susceptible to oxidation and corrosion.
Using wireless technology eliminates the need to search for your Lightning cable and it also keeps things more organized.
Although commonly referred to as wireless charging, it is not truly wireless, unless a portable MagSafe battery pack is being utilized. The MagSafe charger remains connected to a wall charger via a cable, however, the connection to the phone is indeed wireless.
to do
What other tasks/requirements do you have?
Certain MagSafe chargers include a wall charger, but others require you to provide your own. According to Apple, using a 20W USB-C power adapter (wall-socket charger) is recommended, and we concur. While the MagSafe charger only provides up to 15W charging power to the iPhone, opting for a 20W adapter ensures maximum power output.
We have conducted tests on the top iPhone wall chargers in order to assist you in selecting a recommended option.
