As the year is coming to an end and there are no upcoming Apple events, we were beginning to believe that 2023 would pass without any further Apple product releases. However, a recent report suggests that this may not be true.
According to 9to5Mac, there are several upcoming iPad releases, including a refresh of the iPad mini 7 and two new versions of the iPad Air. The report suggests that Apple may be planning to release a larger iPad Air or a higher-priced model with improved specifications.
The latest iPad Air boasts a 10.9-inch screen and an M1 chip, while the smaller iPad Pro features an 11-inch display and an M2 processor. It is speculated that Apple may discontinue the 11-inch model in favor of a larger 14-inch version, as a bigger screen would surpass it. The iPad mini is not anticipated to receive any updates other than a new chip and color choices.
According to 9to5Mac, Apple is currently testing a revised model of the 10th-generation iPad, released in October of last year. This update is expected to mainly include a new processor and minor improvements to specifications.
A new iPad Pro is set to be released, featuring an M3 chip. Along with it, a revamped Magic Keyboard made of aluminum and a bigger trackpad will also be launched. According to 9to5Mac, the device will also include a new accelerometer, but its function remains unclear.
Apple plans to update its entire iPad lineup within the next few months. The exact timing is uncertain, as some models may be released this month or delayed until 2024. It’s rare for Apple to update all of its iPad models simultaneously or go an entire year without any updates, so it’s probable that a new product will be unveiled before the end of October.
