  • The beta version of One UI 6 is being released by Samsung for the Galaxy Z Fold 5.

  • The beta update includes firmware version F946BXXU1ZWJ2.

  • The beta was visible on the Galaxy Z Flip 5 approximately one hour after it was released for the Fold 5.

As of October 6th, 2023 at 2:52 PM ET, it has been reported on Reddit that the beta update is currently being rolled out to the Galaxy Z Flip 5.

On October 6, 2023 at 1:40 PM ET, Samsung revealed that the beta availability for One UI 6 on the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5 would be postponed until sometime in October. The delay has now ended, but it only applies to one of the foldable devices from the company.

Samsung is now releasing the beta edition of its Android 14 interface to the Fold 5. This makes the Fold 5 the fifth device in Samsung’s lineup to receive the newest beta software update and the first among its foldable devices.

To participate in the beta, you must sign up for the beta program through the Samsung Members app. Simply click on the One UI beta program banner at the top of the page. Once you have enrolled, you can check for updates by going to Settings, selecting Software update, and choosing Download and install.

The firmware update, labeled as F946BXXU1ZWJ2, will have a size of approximately 3GB. It also incorporates the security patch for October, which may account for its large size. To avoid any potential data usage, it is recommended to connect to a Wi-Fi network before initiating the download.

Although the Galaxy Z Fold 5 is receiving the One UI 6 beta, it appears that the Flip 5 has not been included in this update. However, we anticipate that the Flip 5 will also receive the update in the near future. It is also likely that the Fold 4 and Flip 4 will receive the update shortly after in the upcoming weeks.
