Reddit has officially introduced the Contributor Program, where individuals can earn money for their low-quality posts.

Reddit still has a lot of work to do to get its official app recommended as one of the best apps around, even though it did entirely kill off third-party Reddit apps. However, the anonymous network of communities does want people to keep using its platform. We’ve previously reported on how Reddit was working on a Contributor program, and we’re happy to report that the company has now formally launched the same, confirming our findings.

The recently launched Reddit Contributor Program allows users to redeem their accumulated internet points for rewards. As mentioned earlier, active Reddit users can apply for the program to determine their eligibility. Fellow Redditors will grant gold and karma for noteworthy posts, comments, and contributions. Once you have earned a sufficient amount of karma and gold, you can exchange the gold for actual currency.

The Contributor Program has two levels:

• Contributor:

  • Accrues 100-4,999 karma within a 12-month timeframe.

  • The standard payout rate is $0.9 for every 1 unit of gold.

• Top Contributor:

  • Accumulates more than 5,000 karma within a span of 12 months.

  • Increased payout rate to $1 for every 1 unit of gold.

The amount you receive as a payout is determined by multiplying your payout rate with the number of qualifying gold within the previous 12 months.

According to the terms and conditions, your karma calculation for this program will start on the day you received gold, not when you first earned karma. Payouts will be calculated at the end of each month and should be received within 30 days.

If your monthly gold amount is less than 10, it will carry over until you reach the minimum payout requirement of 10 gold.

One way to determine if you are eligible for Reddit’s Contributor program is by checking the program’s requirements.

To qualify for eligibility, you must be at least 18 years old and reside in the United States. You will be required to provide verification details through either Persona or Stripe. Additionally, you can only receive payment for Safe for Work contributions. To meet the requirements, you must have accumulated a minimum of 100 karma and ten gold within the last 12 months.

The official Reddit mobile application displays all of your notifications and comments.

• Click on your profile picture located in the upper right corner and access the side menu.

• Select the Contributor Program option.

• Users who are qualified will have access to the button labeled “Get Verified to Begin Earning.”

• To start earning, click on it.
