Microsoft is willing to sacrifice billions in order to make Bing the default search engine for Apple.

In 2022, we mentioned that the Department of Justice (DOJ) was planning to take legal action against Google for their agreements to have their search engine set as the default on the majority of browsers and all American smartphones. This court case is currently in progress and the CEO of Microsoft had an unexpected statement about Bing, Google, and Apple during his testimony.

Satya Nadella, the CEO of Microsoft, was among the initial witnesses to testify in Google’s antitrust case. According to The Verge, Nadella shared a story that portrayed Google as an insurmountable hurdle in their attempts to create a rival search engine. He stated that Google’s position as the default search choice has greatly hindered Bing’s success as a company and product.
