The most advanced smartphones now utilize AI and machine learning on the device to enhance various intelligent features. If smartphone producers can experiment with AI, can AI companies also experiment with smartphones? According to a recent report, the CEO of OpenAI may have had similar considerations.

Based on information from sources familiar with the discussions, it is reported that Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, had a meeting with Jony Ive, a well-known former designer at Apple, to explore the potential development of a new AI hardware device. The CEO of investment group SoftBank, Masayoshi Son, is also said to have been involved in these conversations.
