The CEO of OnePlus and Senior Vice President of OPPO have both confirmed that a foldable phone will be released by both companies.
The hinge on the OnePlus Open/OPPO Find N3 will be 37% smaller than the hinge on the Find N2.
The upcoming foldable device will feature an alert slider.
Both OpenPlus and OPPO have been actively developing foldable devices, specifically the OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3. The Open will mark OnePlus’s debut in the foldable market, while the Find N3 will be OPPO’s third iteration of a book-style foldable. There have been speculations that the OnePlus Open and OPPO Find N3 are one and the same, and recent confirmations have validated this.
Pete Lau, the creator of OnePlus and senior vice president and chief product officer at OPPO, has officially announced that the Open and Find N3 are in fact the same phone. Lau stated that the two companies collaborated to develop the upcoming foldable device, which will be released simultaneously.
