“Tawanchai PK Saenchai bravely defends Superbon Singha Mawynn before facing off against Jo Nattawut, embodying the fearless spirit of a true warrior.”
Although Tawanchai PK Saenchai will not be headlining ONE Championship’s upcoming event, he will still be competing against a formidable opponent.
On Friday, October 6, at ONE Fight Night 15, the ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion will compete against “Smokin” Jo Nattawut in a kickboxing match at the renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Tawanchai PK Saenchai responds to criticism from Superbon Singha Mawynn’s detractors.
Originally scheduled to defend his title against Superbon Singha Mawynn in the main event, Tawanchai expressed disappointment when the fight could not proceed. Superbon revealed he sustained an injury during training and had to withdraw from the highly anticipated match. Critics questioned the legitimacy of the former champion’s injury, especially since Tawanchai has been performing exceptionally well and the fight was only a few weeks away. However, the representative from PK Saenchai stood by his fellow Thai fighter, dismissing any notions that Superbon was avoiding the fight due to fear. In an interview with ONE, he stated, “To those who claim Superbon is afraid of me and trying to avoid this fight, I want to remind them that a true warrior is fearless.”
“This situation is unexpected and out of our control. He sustained a serious injury. I hope that once he fully recovers, we will have the opportunity to fight each other again soon.” Fortunately, fans will still be able to watch Tawanchai demonstrate his abilities in the same event, as Nattawut bravely stepped in last minute to face him in a kickboxing match. The 24-year-old acknowledged that preparing for a new opponent presents some challenges in terms of strategy, but he is not bothered by the change in rule set as it brings him closer to his goal of becoming a champion in two weight divisions. “It’s definitely different. Jo’s strength lies in his boxing skills, while Superbon excels in leg kicks,” he stated.
“I am working hard to defeat him” – Mansur Malachiev reflects on his goals ahead of his match against Joshua Pacio.
I am able to transition from Muay Thai to Kickboxing without any issue. My goal is to dominate the kickboxing division in ONE. This upcoming fight will serve as a warm-up for me to stay active, which is beneficial. It is more beneficial than training for an extended period of time without having a fight, which can make me feel lethargic. I plan to use this opportunity to gain experience and improve my skills in kickboxing. Nattawut is a seasoned striker with a record of over 70 wins, but he has faced challenges in the world’s largest martial arts organization recently. He has suffered consecutive losses, including his most recent defeat against Jamal Yusupov at ONE 159 in July.
Saenchai is excited for the difficult competition he faces against Jo Nattawut.
In his nine matches in ONE, Nattawut has only experienced three losses, which were inflicted by highly skilled fighters Giorgio Petrosyan and Chingiz Allazov. Because of this, Tawanchai recognizes the danger his upcoming opponent poses and knows he will need to be at the top of his game in order to secure a victory. “Just look at the caliber of his previous opponents! Let’s not forget that he faced top-level fighters. There’s no shame in losing to those exceptional athletes,” Tawanchai stated. “They are world-class fighters and Nattawut did his best against them. I also believe Jo is talented in his own way, otherwise he wouldn’t have been matched up with me by the ONE matchmaker.”

Despite the unforeseen circumstances, Tawanchai remains focused on securing a victory at ONE Fight Night 15. He aims to continue his streak of dominant performances and secure his third consecutive stoppage, potentially earning a US$50,000 performance bonus. Tawanchai expressed his desire to win by knockout and end the fight quickly, but acknowledges that his opponent also has the potential to end the fight swiftly. The event will be broadcasted live on Prime Video on Friday, October 6 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and is available for all Prime Video subscribers in the U.S. and Canada at no additional cost.
