IShowSpeed did not get to witness his idol being named the Champion.
In a recorded segment, IShowSpeed becomes visibly enthusiastic as the host of the show steps up to reveal the recipient of the highly sought-after individual soccer honor on Monday. IShowSpeed can be observed covering his ears and repeating “Ronaldo! Ronaldo!” in anticipation of his beloved soccer player and role model winning the award once more.

The FIFA streamer was disappointed when the host of the show announced that “Lionel Messi” had won the 2023 Ballon d’Or. Speed was shocked and confused as the famous Argentine player accepted the award on stage. “I can’t believe it! Not Ronaldo?” mumbled IShowSpeed, disagreeing with the show’s choice.
Although Cristiano Ronaldo has higher statistics as both a club and national team player in 2023 compared to Lionel Messi, Messi’s outstanding performance in leading Argentina to a World Cup victory in 2022 completely shifted the comparison.
