Did Billionaire LeBron James make investments in TGL, the golf company of Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, to compete with Saudi-funded LIV Golf?

In June, Fenway Sports revealed their plans to become a member of the TGL golf league. With partial ownership by LeBron James, the organization will support the team representing Boston and the New England area.

2021 launch

TGL, supported by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, was established to compete with LIV Golf. The league has joined forces with the PGA Tour and will feature six teams made up of three players from the tour. It is scheduled to begin in 2021.

Starting on January 9, Palm Beach Gardens, Florida will be the location for the home venue.


Other groups consist of Los Angeles, Atlanta, and New York. In addition to golf, Fenway also holds stakes in the Boston Red Sox and Liverpool FC. The corporation has recently declared that the golf team will be called Boston Common Golf and has revealed the team’s logo and branding.
