Defeating the defending champion, Simone Biles seeks revenge for Shilese Jones’ loss last year, representing US pride at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships.

During the second day of qualifications for the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, Simone Biles maintained her usual domination and secured a total score of 58.865, solidifying her status as the GOAT. Despite facing tough competition from her peers, Biles remained at the top of her game. The overall standings showed the USA in first place with a score of 171.395, largely due to the exceptional performances of their six-member team. Alongside Biles and other renowned gymnasts, a 23-year-old athlete also showcased her incredible vault skills.

The Brazilian gymnast, Rebeca Andrade, impressed the Antwerp audience with her skill and left them in awe. As the 2020 and 2021 World Champion in the vault, she effortlessly landed her routine. Biles can also feel proud of herself for redeeming her teammate’s loss from last year.

Simone Biles seeking retribution

Itanastics proudly shared Rebeca’s medal-winning performance on her username “X.” Despite not being able to compete in the floor routine for some time, her strongest event has always been the vault. The post included a caption that read, “Rebeca Andrade is currently in 2nd place behind Simone Biles in the VT QF Worlds.”

“Simone Biles, representing Team USA, kicked off the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships by expressing her love for America.”

Andrade wore a silver and white leotard as she effortlessly performed flips. Although she had high expectations, the Brazilian athlete was unable to secure a victory this time. With her individual score, Brazil earned a total of 164.297 points. However, Simone is pleased because she was able to get revenge at the World Championships. Her two-year break proved to be beneficial at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships qualifiers.
