At the young age of 20, up-and-coming American talent Ben Shelton is making waves as a trendsetter, as a Portuguese doubles duo mimics his successful “Dialed In” performance.

After making it to the quarter-finals of the US Open, Ben Shelton held the record for the fastest serve. However, it was his victory over fellow American Frances Tiafoe that quickly gained attention in the sports world. Novak Djokovic, Lorenzo Musetti, and Fabio Fognini all imitated Shelton’s focused celebration, with tennis fans praising him as a trailblazer. Even Roger Federer was impressed, finding the celebration to be unique. The iconic celebration has now spread to other circuits as well.

Two siblings from Portugal brought the tradition to their country after winning their first major ITF championship. The celebration caught the eye of the young champion, who also shared his reaction as the siblings gave a sneak peek of it.

Portuguese siblings Matilde Jorge and Francisca Jorge made it big at the W60 tournament on their home turf. The doubles duo won their first Caldas da Rainha ladies’ title by defeating the pair of America’s Ashley Lahey and China’s Fangra Tian. The young siblings dialed in their opponents and flexed their celebration on social media.

Matilde, the younger sibling of Jorge, shared photos on her Instagram account of them making a phone call. In the caption, the 19-year-old described the moment.

I am focused, Ben.🤙🏽☎.” I cannot agree with you on this one.”

Shelton replied to the post by stating, “I cannot concur with your stance on this matter.”📞.” Young Jorge was swept off her feet with the response and reacted, “🥺🫶🏻

“to the acknowledgement of the 19th-ranked player in the world.”
