The Philippine University’s LYCEUM (LPU) aims to maintain its impressive performance as it vies for a fourth consecutive victory against San Sebastian College-Recoletos (SSCR) in today’s game of the NCAA Season 99 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.

The LPU Pirates quickly rose to the lead by securing their third consecutive win against the University of Perpetual Help Altas, 76-73, on Saturday. Another victory against the unpredictable Stags at 4 p.m. would solidify their top spot.

According to LPU coach Gilbert Malabanan, their success was a result of believing in each other and putting in hard work to reach their goal.

According to Mr. Malabanan, our team’s greatest asset is our trust in one another and our determination to constantly improve with each game.

LPU is experiencing its most successful beginning since becoming a part of the league 12 years ago.

The Pirates’ victory was even more remarkable because they defeated last year’s finalists, the Letran Knights and the College of St. Benilde Blazers.

Although Mr. Malabanan believes there is more work to be done.

“He stated that it’s only been three games and that we haven’t truly demonstrated anything yet since we still have more games ahead of us.”

The Stags, on the other hand, can capitalize on the energy from their dominant 111-86 win against the Arellano University Chiefs last Saturday, marking their first victory in two games.

AU and UPHSD are aiming for their initial victory at 2 p.m. following two consecutive losses.
