The DMW is investigating fraudulent employment opportunities in Italy.

The DMW announced on Monday that they are investigating a fraudulent recruitment operation that enticed OFWs with fake job opportunities in Italy.

The DMW released a statement announcing its collaboration with the DFA and the Philippine Consulate General in Milan to take legal action against the individuals responsible for the scheme.

The DMW issued a warning to the public regarding fraudulent job opportunities abroad and the unlawful charging of excessive placement fees.

The agency for migrant workers recently collaborated with the Department of Justice (DoJ) to investigate more than one hundred complaints from victims of the Italy-based scheme.

The Department of Manpower and Welfare (DMW) is encouraging those who have been victimized by illegal recruitment schemes to report the incidents to them for legal support. They have also stated that they will utilize the full extent of the law to hold accountable any dishonest individuals or organizations and fight for justice on behalf of affected overseas workers. – John Victor D.
