Students from Pasig City who are part of the Hyundai Accelerate program have been accepted into Don Bosco Makati.
Through the Hyundai Accelerate initiative, HYUNDAI MOTOR Philippines, Inc. (HMPH) is dedicated to empowering communities and improving the prospects of Filipinos. Most recently, four scholars from Pasig City were accepted into a rigorous 12-month Industrial Skills Training Program offered by Don Bosco Makati as part of the program. This marks Pasig City as the second partner under HMPH’s scholarship program, with the first being the Department of Education Taguig and Pateros (DepEd TAPAT).
A ceremony to sign an agreement was recently held at the People’s Hall. In attendance were executives from HMPH, including President Dong Wook Lee, Managing Director Cecil Capacete, and Chief Finance Officer Hong Shik Chin. Officials from Pasig City, led by Mayor Victor Ma. Regis “Vico” Sotto, Vice-Mayor Robert Vincent Jude “Dodot” Jaworski Jr., Councilor Mark Gil “Volta” Delos Santos, Councilor Corazon “Cory” Raymundo, Education Unit Officer-in-Charge Atty. Kathleen Mae Villamin, and Executive Assistant for the Office of the Mayor Atty. Bernice Mendoza, were also present.
“We express our gratitude to the City Government of Pasig for granting us the opportunity to assist and contribute to their ‘Five-Point Agenda,’ particularly in the area of education. Let us work together in taking care of our youth and providing them with access to excellent training and resources that will guide them towards becoming successful and well-rounded professionals,” stated Mr. Lee during the event.
