Continuing the tradition of acknowledging exceptional leaders in the industry.

Mr. Verma began the award ceremony by recognizing the attendance of top leaders in the real estate industry in the country.

Anurag Verma, the Country Head of Lamudi Philippines, inaugurates The Outlook 2023: Philippine Real Estate Awards.

“We all can agree that improving the industry is not a one-man job. Together, we must create a collective vision with a shared mindset of helping Filipinos find their dream home. This room is currently filled with educators, innovators, planners, designers, builders, legislators, and marketers who all want to introduce each family to the perfect home that will empower them to do more–to dream more,” he said.

According to Mr. Verma, the real estate process now begins with an online search due to the shift to the digital era.

“The beginning of this turning point in the use of technology within the real estate market in the Philippines is something we are thrilled to see. We are proud to assist developers in this journey by providing digital solutions, as they enthusiastically embrace this new era,” stated the country head of Lamudi Philippines.

During her opening statement, Bernadette Ocampo, the Head of BPI’s Retail Mortgage Division, acknowledged that industry partners have acknowledged the advantages of utilizing online platforms to expand their reach and improve their operations and business processes.

Ms. Ocampo stated that BPI and Lamudi share the same vision and objectives of helping Filipinos attain their desired homes and empowering them to make it a reality today.

With the continued partnership of Lamudi and BPI, the two market players are set to launch BPI Verified. This new service converts Lamudi property listings into BPI-verified property listings, enabling Filipinos to choose from various properties on the online platform that were pre-appraised and title-verified. Home-buyers can then apply for a BPI Housing Loan.

The primary goal of BPI Verified is to provide clients with reassurance about their property by having a bank pre-evaluate and verify the listings. According to Ms. Ocampo, this serves as an indication that the property is a strong collateral and meets the qualifications for bank financing with BPI.

Mr. Verma also shared his appreciation for the partner developers who have placed their trust in Lamudi. He stated, “At Lamudi, we understand that your triumph is our triumph. Over the past nine years, our goal has been to ensure a reliable, convenient, and effortless real estate experience.”

Preparing for the advancement of Philippine real estate development

Prior to the actual award ceremony, a group discussion was held to discuss the plans for modernizing the real estate industry in the Philippines. The discussion was facilitated by AJ Rocero, the Managing and Executive Director of PropTech Consortium of the Philippines, and Randolf Ilawan, the Real Estate Portfolio Manager from BPI’s Economic Research and Real Estate Portfolio Team in the Corporate & Commercial Credit Group.

During the panel discussion of The Outlook 2023: Philippine Real Estate Awards, AJ Rocero and Randolf Ilawan engage in conversations about sustainable efforts in the Philippine real estate industry.

Ms. Rocero observed that numerous developers are already implementing sustainability efforts in the country.

She expressed confidence that we are headed in the correct path, as other developers are also adopting it. This is due to the support from both private and government agencies, who are promoting incentives.

When asked about the priorities of the average person, Mr. Ilawan stated that their initial reaction to implementing these initiatives is that it will incur additional expenses. However, they have not considered the long-term benefits. Therefore, it is important to help them understand the reasons behind these initiatives and the positive outcomes that can result from embracing green and property technology.

The Outlook 2023: Philippine Real Estate Awards is being co-presented by BPI.
