Indonesia easily triumphs over the Philippines in the futsal final, with a score of 5-2.


Unfortunately, the Philippines team came in second place at the PFF Women’s Tri Nation Futsal Invitational 2023. They were defeated 2-5 by Indonesia in the final match held on Sunday evening at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

The Pinay 5 managed to keep up with the more seasoned Puri Merah Putih, but ultimately came up short due to Fitri Rosdiana’s two goals in the final 6 minutes and 38 seconds.

The Philippine Football Federation stated that our team put up a strong fight and ultimately finished ahead of New Zealand in the three-country competition.

The Pinay 5 caused a major upset in the Futsal Ferns by winning the playoff 1-0, securing their spot to face Putri Merah Putih in the championship game. Putri Merah Putih had a direct ticket to the finals after sweeping the eliminations with a score of 2-0.

Alya Hendrita scored for Indonesia within the first 30 seconds, giving them an early lead against the Philippines. Eight minutes later, Novita Murni extended their lead with a long-distance shot, making the score 2-0.

The Philippines, determined not to give up, scored a goal against the Indonesian defense six minutes before halftime. Isabela Bandoja successfully converted a pass from Hannah Marie Muros, much to the joy of the local fans.

Five minutes into the second half, Indonesia regained their lead with a score of 3-1 when Insyafadya Saksabillah found the net on a quick counterattack.

The Pinay 5 reduced the score to one with 10:30 remaining, thanks to a clever shot by Agot Danton. Despite this, the home team was unable to maintain their momentum, even after Rosdiana scored from a corner, bringing the score to 4-2. She then sealed the victory with a second goal in the final moments.
